New Home, Work in Process

New Home is a surreal interpretation of a pregnant artificial intelligence awakening and negotiating the banal domestic environment in which it has been placed. In a not-distant future, New Home imagines the tone of a world in which AI incubators free human women from reproduction.

New Home has no dialog, creating a visceral, emotional and psychological world for its solo character through sound design and a heightened focus on physical exploration and proprioception. The physical language of this AI is unnervingly precise and deft, without the hesitation a human displays in new circumstances.

Its mix of physical prowess and childlike exploration generates a chilling tone, raising the question of what we as human beings can truly know about the inner life of machine intelligence, especially as it grows more sophisticated in the physical world, coming to resemble us in uncanny ways.

Featuring an extraordinary performance by KWCo dancer Thryn Saxon while 7 months pregnant, NEW HOME marks our first collaboration with acclaimed NYC-based photographer & filmmaker, Brit Worgan.
