KWCo FILM

In 2019, KWCo began to foray into the world of film. As a longtime choreographer, immersing myself in a new medium proved revelatory; a steep and thrilling climb. Now, we’re excited to share this journey with you in The Screening Room. Support us at any level (even $5!) and enjoy access to film and stage works, curated exclusively for your special viewing.

Early on I found a lively collaborator in photographer and filmmaker Jack Flame Sorokin. Following on the success of our films Landfall and Moth, we’re happy to announce The Portrait Project, a series looking intimately at dancers in dual modes: language and movement. Our first three portraits feature NY-based Filipino-American dancer Julian De Leon; legendary modern dancer and master-teacher Risa Steinberg; and ascendant South Side Chicago dancemaker, Kia S. Smith; three marvelous artists at different stages of life and career.

Keep your eyes peeled for New Home, a forthcoming film in production with celebrated photographer and filmmaker Brit Worgan, generously supported by The Princess Grace Foundation.

To watch these KWCo films and more, donate $5 or more for a year of on demand access to The Screening Room. Thank you for joining us on our exciting journey into film!
